Toyoda
Sakichi (1887-1930) founded Toyoda
Loom Works, Ltd. in
1926. His son Toyoda
Kiichirô (1894-1952) made an at that time quite risky decision by
branching Toyoda Loom Works
into automobiles. Kiichirô created what become Toyota Motor Corporation. He resigned from the
company in 1948 and passed away four years later. In
1957 his cousin and confidant Toyoda Eiji (born 1913) became head
of Toyota Motor Corporation.
Eiji successfully expanded worldwide. Toyota has its headquarters in Toyota, Nagoya and
Tôkyô.
